Who is eligible to participate in this weekend? Active duty, reserve, guard, or veterans of any branch of the U.S. military are eligible to register for this weekend.
I haven't heard from huskersalute.org yet. Why haven't I heard from them? Please contact us! If you paid your donation fee, you will receive a receipt, and you will receive information as time draws nearer to the event. Also, your email address may not be working. We may have tried to contact you and your address may have bounced back to us. Another reason may be that we have tried to contact you and our emails are going to your junk email or spam box. Please make sure our correspondence is going to your inbox. Also, you may have forgotten to pay the $20 registration fee. Please click here to do so. I am having trouble with the online form. Is there any other way I can register? Yes! You can copy and paste the online form into an email and send it to huskersalute@gmail.com. Please do not forget to move on to the next step and pay the $20 donation fee to secure your slot. There is a limited number of slots for this event.
What is the $20 registration fee for? This covers operating costs not covered by the main sponsors for the event. It also secures each family's slot for the event.
I am unable to pay using the secure online donation form with my VISA, Mastercard, or online check. Is there another way I can send payment? Yes- Make sure you register online first. You can mail a check to Gary R. McGirr, 3610 SW Woodvalley Terr, Topeka, KS 66614. Please include your telephone and email address. Mr. McGirr will acknowledge your payment.
May I donate more than just the $20 registration fee? Yes! Please click here or visit our sponsor page.
When should I expect the schedule for Saturday game day? We will put out a schedule when the game time is published.
Can I have more than one room? You can reserve as many rooms as you would like, however, only one room will be provided for troopers and their families by the event. Please contact the Cornhusker Hotel to reserve more rooms- be sure to ask for a military/government rate if you qualify.
Will someone pick me up at the airport if I fly in? Each trooper is responsible for his own transportation to and from the hotel and the weekend events.
Can I bring friends and other guests to the brunch? Soldiers and their immediate family (spouses and children) will have tickets to the brunch. Please contact Mr. Gary McGirr if you would like to purchase additional tickets.
Do I need to contact the Cornhusker Hotel to confirm my registration? No, you will be contacted before the event and when you arrive at the hotel, there will be an event desk set up to obtain your room key.
Will you be providing tickets to the game? No, but we will have a watch party in Lincoln.
My plans have changed and I will not be able to attend the Husker Fans Salute to the Troops Weekend. What do I do next? Please contact huskersalute@gmail.com as soon as possible to cancel your registration. Your $20 registration fee will go towards another trooper's weekend and we will list you as a donor.
